Our client, a highly recognised and regarded Australian organisation, is looking to find an experienced Financial Analyst to join their busy Finance department. Based in Melbourne's inner suburbs, there may be a need to travel interstate from time to time. This role offers challenge and the authority to make decisions, managing your own priorities and work load. Reporting to the Business Proposal Specialist, this role is critical to the finance function in providing specialist advice in the preparation and review of business proposals, ensuring they are robust and of high quality. There is a need for a strong focus on partnering with all divisions within the organisation to assist in the preparation of business proposals as well as defining and measuring the benefits of initiatives, to ensure that funding submissions are consistent with valuable business decisions. Complex ad hoc financial analysis is also a key part of this position, as and when required to support recommendations to Executives and the board. Responsibilities in this position include, • Maintenance and improvement of costing models • Partnering with the business in generating quality business proposals through providing complex financial modeling and operational analysis • Database maintenance, working proactively with key stakeholders to enable timely preparation of business proposals • Reviewing and ensuring funding submissions are consistent with value for money decisions • Influencing and negotiating ideas from initial stages through to securing of funding • Engaging with primary benefit owners and technical experts to ensure appropriate input into business proposals • Providing specialist advice in quality assurance to the board over all internal and external funding requests • Assist with month end capital funding reporting, development of the strategic capital investment plan and other peak work loads. To be successful in this role, you will possess: • CA/CPA qualification (preferred) • Proven experience in Business proposal preparation and evaluation, benefits realisation, budgeting and forecasting, and Financial modeling. • Proven stakeholder/relationship engagement skills • Sound knowledge of MS Office, particularly intermediate-advanced Excel skills. • The flexibility to travel interstate as required.
