A busy government department a vacancy for a motivated, driven and switched on professional to join their team to hit the ground running and get involved with Data Analyst tasks. This is an absolute fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accountant who is seeking a foot in the door into a government department. The contract is initially for three months and there will be a possibility of further extension.
As the Data Analyst your core responsibilities will include:
  • Data base and report generation in Excel or access to provide interim reports; e.g. margins, labour productivity, general ledger
  • Analysis of work orders / programs to identify missing fields
  • Test reporting available and to reconcile and recommend corrections required to report spec.
  • Test new reports available for month end / year end reconciliations
  • Analysis of data / information and collation of key indicators to address backlog issues in labour costing.
  • Data sorting / manipulation to assist with reconciliations/ analysis

To be successful in this role it is imperative you have highly developed IT skills (including Advanced in Excel), a Business/Commerce and CPA or CA qualification (or near completion). An analytical and enquiring mindset, with the ability to manipulate data is required. Previous experience working in a commercial environment is desirable.
