Our client, a leader in the Telecommunications field, requires the services of a Telco Network Engineer with good planning, design, integration and optimization (2G and 3G) to join their team. Candidates with Nokia or Huawei experience will be highly regarded. PLEASE NOTE: - Overseas Candidates need not apply 6 month initial Contract - Rate to $350 per day (inc Super) This position is responsible for Design, Integration and Optimisation of the Client's GSM and WCDMA Mobile Access Networks in NSW/ACT. Under the guidance of the Manager/Technical Specialist, the successful applicant will be expected to exploit the full range of technical solutions to improve network capacity and performance within technical and business guidelines with a particular emphasis on WBB (wireless broadband) performance. In this role you will be required to: Assist with the performance management of the State 2G/3G mobile network, with particular reference to capacity, ensuring that KPIs are met. Assist Manager/Technical Specialist to provide regular network performance reports as well as ad hoc reporting. Investigate and test parts of the network as required. Make network change recommendations and implement changes under the direction of the Team Leader/Technical Specialist. Site Integration - complete site integrations for new sites within project timeframes including Datafill, drive testing and fault resolution. RF Design - complete designs within project timeframes. Plan and manage capacity for special events. Support End-to-End Resolution in resolving complaints in NSW/ACT. Respond to IFMS Fault Tickets that require performance investigations/solutions. Meet 2G and 3G network performance. KPIs, particularly wireless broadband during a period of rapid growth in demand for 3G voice and data services. Monitor network performance KPIs and implement appropriate solutions under the guidance of Snr Engineer or Tech Specialist. To be considered for this role you will require:- A minimum of 1 year's work exp in a field related to radio propagation and/or RF equipment, preferably mobile network infrastructure. Sound Analytical Skills of network performance and an understanding of performance counters. Exposure to 2G and 3G network optimization and understanding of all mobile testing equipment functionalities. A degree in Electrical/Electronic or Communications Engineering Sound understanding of Radio propagation theory and modelling Australian Driver licence. Antenna design and implementation principles. Cellular Network Theory Traffic Theory GSM and UMTS Systems. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Excellent Computer Skills. Although not essential, the following would be highly regarded:- Sound understanding of Cellular Radio. Infrastructure and Cellular Radio Features on both 2G and 3G technologies. A good level of expertise in 2G and 3G? including Inter-working technology. Good understanding of related technical areas such as IP, ATM, microwave radio.
